Congratulations Chris on the 1.0 release.

It is great that you have had the opportunity to do this full time. Getting to work on your favorite open source project is a dream :)

Actually we should have real nightly (not weekly) builds fairly soon. The automated continuous build is running and is generating an update site and related artifacts, but Carter's still having issues getting that to properly deploy out (as part of the build publishing process) to the update server.

Yeah we plan to migrate all the open Trac items over to JIRA. We're still in process on a lot of the launch-related work, there's a ton of stuff going on here. For now we're keeping Trac up in a sort of read-only state and asking users to enter new tickets in JIRA. We'll be handling copying over the existing stuff when we get a chance...

Hi Chris,

Good work! I noticed that you are now using jira (great!!) Are you going to import all the existing trac entries into jira? I had some tickets regarding Aptana Studio Pro 1.0 and I submitted some of them to trac a few days ago.

Thanks for all the support!

dharana: A few people have been asking if we're joining forces with DLTK and the answer right now is no.They've built a platform for dynamic languages that does an intermediate transformation of the languages' AST. Both projects use a core model/base from their ASTs to provide most of the functionality. Swapping this core model for either project would be a very large effort and it's not one we're willing to take right now. We feel it'd be more productive to continue innovating on top of our existing infrastructure than to spend many months moving existing functionality over to a generic infrastructure (that is also evolving).

I think this is great and I hope that the debugging issues are VERY high on your priority list. Currently I am using a trial of Komodo because it seems to be the only IDE that offers debugging that actually works (albeit slowly). Yest I try to do TDD but I think a debugger is essential.
